OUR 2024 SPONSORS:

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Through the generosity of volunteers, ROW is able to offer robust and engaging practice experiences, fundraising events, and learning opportunities.

If you want to support our mission and our athletes, complete our volunteer application form, and we will aim to match your strengths to the variety of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year.

PRACTICE VOLUNTEERS

We’re always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join us at the docks and be part of something special. Whether you’re a seasoned rower or a natural leader with no prior rowing experience, there’s a place for you on our team!

What to Expect:
As a practice volunteer, you’ll be a key part of our practices, helping with essential tasks like coxswaining, carrying equipment, and supporting our athletes. More than that, you’ll bring energy, encouragement, and a sense of camaraderie that makes ROW such a unique and welcoming community.

Coxswain Opportunities (High Need):
Are you great at motivating, organizing, and leading others? We’re especially looking for coxswains—volunteers who steer the boat and guide the team during outdoor rowing practices. Don’t worry if you’re new to coxswaining—ROW offers training to help you develop the skills you need to excel in this role.

Rowing Opportunities (Occasional):
From time to time, we need experienced rowers to step in and help fill a lineup during practice. If you have at least one year of outdoor rowing experience, this could be a fulfilling way to share your skills. While these opportunities are less frequent, your contributions make a big impact.

Requirements:

  • Commit to at least four practices per month to build a strong connection with the team.

  • Be ready to assist with carrying equipment like boats and oars.

By joining as a practice volunteer, you’ll not only support our athletes but also become part of an inspiring community that values teamwork, resilience, and shared goals.

OTHER VOLUNTEERS

There’s no shortage of ways to support ROW and be part of our mission! From exciting events to hands-on projects, we rely on passionate volunteers to help us make a difference.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Event Support: Help make our fundraising events shine, from assisting with St. Patrick’s Day fitness challenges to cycling races, festive galas, and more. Roles may include participant management, ticket sales, and general event coordination.

  • Fundraising: Share your creativity and enthusiasm by helping with fundraising efforts, such as engaging donors or supporting campaigns to grow our community impact.

  • Regatta Assistance: Join us at rowing regattas to assist with logistics, cheer on participants, and keep the events running smoothly.

  • Community Cleanups: Lend a hand to keep our local waterways and rowing spaces clean and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

  • Administrative Support: Help with behind-the-scenes tasks that keep ROW’s programs running smoothly.

No matter your role, we promise a rewarding experience filled with energy, teamwork, and fun. Plus, you’ll be part of the celebration when the work is done—because at ROW, every contribution matters.
