ROW SUPPORTERS, PARTNERS, AND COMMUNITY!
I am delighted to introduce myself to you as Recovery on Water’s new Executive Director!
I’ve worn many hats at ROW since joining the team in 2016, still healing from surgery and watching in awe from the coaches’ launch as I waited to be cleared to join these amazing women in the rowing shell. For five seasons, I pushed off the dock with my team in all types of weather to practice, break a sweat, build skills and come together as a team. In 2020, I began coaching on the ergs and on the water, and in 2021 joined the ROW staff as Programs Manager.
I am honored and energized to step into this leadership role with an organization that has been life-changing for me and so many others. I am often asked, “why rowing for breast cancer?” The answer is simple but not small. Rowing as part of a team can increase the quality and quantity of a woman’s life after a breast cancer diagnosis.
Such depth of impact makes my mission as Executive Director clear: to get ROW programs to more women who would benefit! ROW can do just that through intentional outreach, creative fundraising, and program improvements. And I hope you’ll join me as we get hands-on and prepare to push off!
With gratitude,
Tara Hoffmann
Executive Director
